DOWN TO BUSINESS – OUT ON A LIMB BOSS Today #46
n Consider employee capability:
all people are different due to age,
body size, individual ability and
health (which may include any
disabilities) when being exposed to
certain tasks. Work rates must be
continually monitored to assess the
risks from excessive workloads.
n Provide training: suitable training
can assist your staff to work safely
and reduce the risk of WRULDs.
Changes to reduce the risk of WRULDs
do not need to be expensive. It doesn’t
cost much to introduce job rotation
or to set up new workstations.
Finally, trial the new working
practices before putting them in
place across the business. However,
always remember to work with
your staff, who may have ideas on
how to work smarter and safer.
